My key broke in the ignition. Can you get it out?

Yes. Broken key extraction is a standard job for a mobile automotive locksmith. We use specialized tools to remove the broken piece without damaging your Kia's ignition cylinder. Once it is out, we can cut a new key from the extracted piece or from your vehicle's lock data and program it on the spot. Kia flip keys use a KK12-style blade that can be punched out and replaced with a new one, so in some cases we can reuse the original transponder board in a fresh shell and blade without full reprogramming.

Also check that nothing is interfering with the signal. After the theft-crisis software update, some Kia models require a 30-second wait for the immobilizer to arm properly. If a fresh battery and the backup method do not work, the issue may be the fob, the car's antenna, or the immobilizer module, and that is when you call us for a diagnosis.
