I connected my Smart Pro through OBD, retrieved his 6-digit immobilizer PIN, and ran the full registration, not just remote pairing. His fob came back with all four buttons working plus a clean push-to-start on the first press. He just sat there for a second with the engine running, like he was waiting for it to quit.
Whole thing took about twenty minutes. A fraction of what he'd already spent getting it done wrong.
