2015 Audi Q5 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
In the Richland area of San Marcos, a graveyard shift pharmacist texted me around 11pm on a weeknight. Her 2015 Q5 was sitting in her condo garage and the car wasn't detecting her fob at all. She'd already swapped the CR2032. Didn't help. She figured she was looking at a tow and a dealer appointment, which for her shift schedule meant being without a car for most of the week.
I told her to stay where she was.
When I pulled into her complex, the Q5 was right there in the garage. I connected my diagnostic tool to the OBD port and started the all-keys-lost sequence for the Q5. The process reads the immobilizer data, clears the old key records, and walks through enrolling new fobs one at a time. Her fob, a 4-button smart key, got programmed on the hood of the car under the garage light. Start button worked. Comfort access on the door handles worked. All four buttons confirmed.
She watched the whole thing from the garage doorway in her scrubs, already dressed for her shift.
She didn't tow the car. She didn't call in late. She left for work about 45 minutes after I arrived. The dealer would have been a week out and a lot more money. That's the part she kept repeating when she texted me the next morning to say thanks.
