2016 Audi Q5
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2016 Audi Q5 Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

A woman in the Las Americas Area of San Ysidro called me on a Tuesday. She'd lost her only key somewhere between the parking structure and her front door, and her 2016 Audi Q5 was sitting in the lot going nowhere.

She'd already called the dealer. They told her to have the car towed in, gave her a rough estimate on time that stretched into the next few days, and said they'd contact her once parts were confirmed. That's a tow bill, a rental, and a wait she wasn't willing to sit through.

I met her in the lot. The Q5 was right there, no damage, just keyless. I decoded the lock on site, cut a replacement key blade to match, and handled the transponder enrollment through the diagnostic port so the immobilizer would actually recognize the new key. Took about 45 minutes start to finish.

She turned the key, the engine came up clean, no stall, no warning lights. She drove out on her own instead of waiting on a flatbed.

The dealer comparison came up naturally at the end. She'd already done the math. I didn't need to push it.
