A hobby farmer at a farm supply store outside Alpine had his key snap in the door lock of his 2007 Chrysler Town & Country early one morning. Half the blade was stuck in the cylinder and the other half was in his hand. He couldn't get into the car, let alone start it. I could hear the frustration in his voice when he called.
I got there and used my Y160 Lishi to extract the broken piece without damaging the lock wafers. Once it was out clean, I decoded the lock and cut a fresh key from the readings. His car uses a separate remote fob, FCC ID M3N5WY72XX, so the remote was fine. I just needed to cut and program a new transponder blade. The SKIM system accepted the new chip after one PIN entry and security cycle.
He was back on the road in under an hour from when he called, and the total was $185. Dealer would have charged $395 plus a tow and a multi-day wait. A snapped key at a feed store feels like a disaster. For these older Chrysler models, it's one of the simplest jobs I do.
