My van carries everything I need to replace a 2008 Jaguar X-Type key without a shop. Smart fob housings for every JLR generation, ID49 chips, HU92 and HU101 blade blanks, CR2032 batteries, emergency blades, EEPROM bench equipment, and a cutting machine bolted to the floor. The van is the shop.
A cardiologist in the basement parking of his building near Harbison Canyon Ec called me because a tow truck couldn't navigate the tight turns and low clearance on the lower level. His X-Type was on B2 and the dealer told him to get the car out first. He couldn't move the car because his smart key was completely dead and the emergency blade wouldn't turn the door lock.
I drove into the garage and walked down with my tools. I used my VVDI2 to read the KVM data and generate a replacement key file. His fob, FCC ID KR55WK49244, was a 5-button smart key with push-to-start that I programmed and tested right there on B2.
His car never moved. Total was around $356 compared to $644 at the dealer, and that dealer price assumed the car could somehow get out of basement parking. He said he'd been stressing about how to get a flatbed down there all morning.
