2024 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I was out in Bancroft, Spring Valley, for a job that started with a stolen key and turned into a conversation about trust.
The owner had one fob taken out of her car the night before. The vehicle was still there, nothing else missing, but she knew someone had a working smart key to her 2024 Evoque and she wasn't going to sleep well until that changed. She'd already called the dealer. They told her she'd need to come in, leave the car for most of a day, and the cost would be significant. She didn't want to do that. She found me instead.
I pulled up with my van, set up at her curb, and connected through the OBD port. The process on a current Evoque like this isn't a quick two-minute flash. The vehicle security system has a timed sequence built into the all-keys-lost and key-deletion flow, and you just have to let it run. I explained that to her while we waited. She stood there watching the laptop screen like something dramatic was about to happen.
When it finished, I registered her new fob and walked every function: door handles, start, lock, unlock, the emergency blade in the door cylinder. Everything confirmed. The stolen fob was dead. It would not start the car, it would not open the doors. Whatever the person who took it had planned, that door was closed.
She asked me what would have happened if she'd just gotten a spare cut somewhere without doing the reset. I told her the old key would still have full access. That answer settled it for her. The dealer comparison barely came up. She was just glad it was done, on her driveway, same morning she called.
