Got a call from a guy parked off Rancho Bernardo Road, close to the 4S Ranch side. His 2018 MINI Clubman fob had stopped waking the car. Doors wouldn't respond, the car wasn't seeing the key at all. He had already swapped the battery himself, a CR2032, seated it correctly. Still nothing.

So we moved to the replacement he'd bought. Cut the high-security blade on-site, registered the fob through the OBD port with the diagnostic tools, and walked every function before I packed up.
He mentioned the dealer had quoted him a wait of several days for a programmed key. We handled it same afternoon, in the parking lot, for a fraction of that.
He drove away without touching the 4S Ranch dealer route at all.
