2005 Porsche Cayenne Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A semi-retired surgeon in Alpine Village had been running his 2005 Porsche Cayenne on a single flip key for three years. Not because he forgot about a spare. He'd called the Porsche dealer, got a quote that made him wince, and was told to bring the car in for a morning appointment. He weighed that against his actual morning and decided it wasn't worth it.
He found me online and sent a text from the golf course lot near Alpine Village. That's where I met him.
The job was a spare key add to an existing working key. I decoded the blade cut by reading the door lock, cut a new flip key blank to match, and programmed the transponder through the OBD port. The remote portion of the flip key got registered at the same time. I tested both the original and the new key in the ignition, then walked the remote functions on both fobs to confirm the car was seeing them cleanly.
He watched the whole thing from about four feet away, asking questions the whole time. He was genuinely curious how the programming side worked, not skeptical, just interested. That was a good forty minutes.
He saved a good chunk compared to the dealer quote, and he never had to move the car.
