The OEM versus aftermarket question on 2014 Scion IQ keys deserves a real answer. OEM Scion keys came from the Toyota factory supplier with the Scion logo on the housing. Since Scion is discontinued, those OEM blanks are getting scarce and dealers charge more for remaining stock. Aftermarket keys use the same TOY43 blade profile, same chip type, same button layout, and the same remote board design.
A customer at his friend's house for game night in Ramona asked me point blank whether an aftermarket key would hold up daily. He had a 2014 Scion IQ and wanted a daily driver key, not a drawer backup. Fair question.
