The Torrey Pines stretch of Del Mar draws a certain kind of visitor. Weekend stays, scenic drives, the whole coastal thing. A guy renting a place near there had driven up from San Diego, parked, and somehow the key stopped unlocking the doors. He could get in manually, but when he turned the key, the engine would crank and die. Crank and die. He assumed it was a battery issue, swapped the CR2032, same result. Then he called the dealer.

They told him to tow it in and come back the next afternoon.
