A vet assistant finishing a late shift at a clinic in Downtown Santee walked out to the employee lot around 10 pm and her flip key wouldn't turn in the ignition. Not stiff, just completely stuck. I freed the cylinder, cleaned out the binding wafer, and confirmed the transponder was still fully learned to the car after the mechanical work. Her original blade was worn enough that I decoded the lock and cut a fresh replacement blade so she wasn't going to be back in the same situation in six months. The flip key worked clean on every function when I was done.
She was on the road within 40 minutes of my arrival. She did not leave her Touareg sitting in a dark clinic parking lot overnight waiting for a dealer that wasn't even open.
