In Ventura, at Promenade Park, a dance instructor with a 2003 RL had been living with the old-school routine: unlock the driver door by hand, climb in, then hit the power lock switch. Her keyless remote did nothing, and the dome light was dead too.

Quick check at the interior panel, confirm the feed that wakes up the ceiling light and keyless receiver was dead, then bring it back. Once that circuit woke up, the door locks started cycling again.
Then the boring part that tells the truth: onboard programming, then verify lock, unlock, trunk, and panic. She hit lock three times in a row like she didn’t trust it.
