In Ventura, over in The Avenue, a server from one of the brunch spots flagged me down before her shift ended. She wasn't panicked, she was just done.
Another locksmith had already worked on her 2010 Acura RL. She could lock and unlock the car fine, but every time she went to start it, the engine would catch for a second and then cut out. The green key indicator on the dash was blinking at her, which on the RL means the immobilizer did not recognize the remote. She'd been told the key was programmed. It wasn't, not fully.

I connected through the OBD port, cleared the incomplete registration the previous locksmith had left half-done, and ran a clean immobilizer and keyless access enrollment sequence from scratch. That process has mandatory security wait steps built in, so it takes a few minutes longer than people expect. When it completed, I walked through the full check: door handle touch unlock on both sides, the rotary ignition knob start, lock, unlock, and the remaining fob buttons. Everything responded cleanly and the dash warning was gone.
She watched the whole thing and then just stood there for a second, like she was waiting for it to stall again. It didn't.
