Another locksmith had sold her a replacement remote for her 2010 Acura RL, but the car would crank, catch for a heartbeat, then drop out. The green key indicator on the dash would start blinking. When it finished, the ignition knob start was repeatable every time, the door handle lock sensor gave one clean beep, and the dash stopped nagging. She just stood there, quiet, like she did not trust it yet.
She never had to tow it anywhere, and it cost a fraction of what the dealer wanted for the same fix.
