2008 Honda Ridgeline Remote head key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
He landed after a red-eye, walked to the airport economy lot, and his 2008 Honda Ridgeline wouldn't respond to the key fob. The CR1616 battery in the remote was dead. The car was locked, the emergency blade was inside his bag in the trunk, and the trunk wouldn't pop without the remote. He was stuck at the airport with luggage and no way into his own car.
He called the dealer. Earliest appointment was Thursday. It was Tuesday. He called a tow company and they quoted $175 to bring it to the dealer. Then he found EZ Car Keyz and asked if I could come to the economy lot.
I was there in 45 minutes. Once I got the door open, I used my IM608 to check the key programming status through OBD. It confirmed both his keys were still learned to the car. The issue was just the dead fob battery causing no remote response and no push-to-start wake. His remote head key with FCC ID OUCG8D-380H-A was back working after a CR1616 swap and a quick reprogram to clear the fault code. He seemed pretty relieved when I told him the fix was that simple.
He drove home that same morning. Total was about 185. The dealer would have been 395 plus $175 in towing and a Thursday appointment. He skipped all of that and was home before lunch.
