2006 Honda Ridgeline
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2006 Honda Ridgeline Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Marina West sits right off the water in Oxnard and most of the parking there is surface lots with no shade. Not a great place to lose a key.

A guy texted me from one of those lots on a Saturday afternoon. He'd driven over for an early kayak launch, came back to his 2006 Ridgeline, and couldn't find the key anywhere in his dry bag or gear. Not in his truck bed, not under the seat through the window he'd left cracked. Gone.

He'd already looked up the nearest Honda dealer and got an estimated wait that pushed into the following week once you factored in parts availability. He found me instead.

I was in Marina West inside 40 minutes. The Ridgeline was sitting in the middle of the lot, gear loaded in the bed, looking like it was ready to go anywhere except it had no key to make that happen. I decoded the door lock, cut a fresh key blade on site, and programmed the replacement remote head key to the truck using my equipment at the tailgate.

The part that stuck with me was how relieved he was when the engine turned over right there in the lot. Not dramatic, just quiet relief. He said something like "I figured this was going to wreck the whole weekend."

It didn't. He was on the road before the lot cleared out from the morning crowd. No tow, no dealer appointment, no wrecked weekend.
