2018 Honda Ridgeline
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2018 Honda Ridgeline Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Got a call around 3 in the afternoon from a guy in a kitchen parking lot near Ormond Beach in Oxnard. Line cook, shift starting at 4, 2018 Ridgeline sitting dead in the lot. You could hear the kitchen noise behind him when he talked.

He said the fob just stopped working. Truck wouldn't unlock, wouldn't start. He'd already tried holding the fob right up to the door handle, which tells me he'd been reading forums on his break. His head chef had already called once.

I told him 20 minutes. Made it in 19.

The mechanical backup blade got the door open. From there I pulled up the fob, popped the back, and the CR2032 inside looked original. Dated by the grime pattern on the contact ring. Swapped it with a fresh cell I carry stock, reseated everything clean, and walked every button. Lock, unlock, all four. Then a start cycle.

Came right up.

I handed him a second fob I programmed on site, verified both keys started the truck, and he was clocking in at 4:08. He texted me that night, one line, just said thanks. Those are the jobs I remember, not because anything was complicated, but because the timing actually mattered to someone.

He saved a good chunk compared to what a dealer visit plus a tow would have run him, and he didn't lose a shift he couldn't afford to miss.
