A nail tech at a salon near Rose Shopping Center in Oxnard had everything ready before I even pulled up. VIN texted to me while I was driving over, registration photo in her messages, ID in hand. Her 2013 Ridgeline needed a spare and she had a break between clients.
With the VIN already in my system, I knew her key setup cold: OUCG8D-380H-A remote head, 3-button, ID46 chip, HO03 blade. I had the blank prepped in the van on the way.
She met me in the parking lot with her working key. That changes the whole job. With a working key present, I used my Xhorse VVDI2 to clone the ID46 transponder onto the new PCF7936 chip. No lock decode needed, no all-keys-lost procedure, no waiting on the immobilizer reset timer. Just clone, cut, and test.
I cut the HO03 blade on my Condor XC-Mini, matched it to her original, then verified every function. Engine start, remote lock, remote unlock, trunk release. Checked that the immobilizer light on the dash dropped out within two seconds of key-on, which tells you the transponder handshake completed clean.
Eighteen minutes from when I parked to when I handed her a tested spare. She was back with her next client before the break ended. The dealer would have had her drop the truck off for half a day and charged a lot more for the same result.
