Got called out to Chumash Park for a 2023 Ridgeline that wouldn't detect the key. Owner tried everything: new CR2032, standing closer, holding the fob to the start button. Nothing.

Dealers charge for the diagnostic time plus the update, and you're looking at half a day minimum. I had him sorted in under 30 minutes, right there in his driveway.
Best part was when he tested the walk-away lock and it actually beeped and locked itself. "That hasn't worked since I bought it," he said. Sometimes the fix is in the truck, not the key.
