Out in Marina West, early on a weekday morning, a food truck operator called me with that tight, clipped voice people get when they're already running late and something just went sideways.

He was moving before the lunch crowd showed up. The dealer option would have meant a tow, waiting for a service appointment, and probably a multi-day turnaround. He told me the dealer had quoted him a number when he lost a key on his last truck that made him wince just remembering it. This one was a fraction of that.
A snapped key in a working ignition is one of those moments that feels like a full emergency. On a truck like this, it's one of the more manageable calls I get.
