A food truck operator near Esplanade Shopping Center in Oxnard called me early one morning. His 2016 Honda Ridgeline key had snapped clean in the ignition. His separate MLBHLIK6-1T remote was fine the whole time since it is a standalone unit, not built into the key blade.
He was back rolling in under an hour from the first phone call.
The quiet part: a dealer would have needed a tow, a wait of a few days minimum, and a bill that would have stung a lot harder. For a base-trim Ridgeline with the standard transponder setup, a snapped key is one of the simplest jobs I run.
