A woman in Downtown Ramona called me on a Tuesday morning after a late flight in the night before. She had taken a car service to the airport, left her TLX in long-term parking for about a week, and came back to a fob that did nothing. Completely dead. Before I called it done, I connected through the OBD port to check that both of her fobs were still properly enrolled. They were. No lost pairing, no ghost fault codes sitting in the system. The dead battery had just cut communication entirely and made it look like something bigger had failed.
She was back on the road before nine. No tow, no Thursday, no waiting room. The dealer comparison did not even come up until she was already in the driver seat.
