2015 Audi A5 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Shadowridge on a Monday afternoon. The woman who called me teaches piano lessons at a music school off Melrose, and she had her kids with her when the A5 decided to stop cooperating.
She had already called the Audi dealer. They told her Friday at the earliest, and that assumed the fob was in stock, which it might not be. She drives her kids to school every morning and has back-to-back lessons every weekday afternoon. Five days of borrowed rides and rescheduled students was not something she could just absorb.
She had one working key and a spare that had been sitting in a drawer. The drawer key came out of the car with a key-not-detected warning the moment she tried it, and then the primary started doing the same thing intermittently. She was not far from losing both.
I pulled into the parking lot and set up on site. The 2015 A5 smart key job starts with a security login through the diagnostic port before anything else happens. No login, no programming. Once I was in, I registered both fobs, confirmed the emergency insert blade was cut correctly to her vehicle, and ran through the whole function check: door lock, door unlock, the backup start with the fob held to the dash, every button. The intermittent primary came back solid. The drawer key paired clean.
She asked if the dealer would have done the same thing. Probably, I said, but on Friday, and for a lot more.
She had afternoon lessons starting in an hour. Made it fine.
