2017 Audi A5 Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Out in Bressi Ranch, off El Camino Real, an interior designer called me from a wine bar patio on a Tuesday evening.
She had owned her 2017 Audi A5 for about two years, bought it used with a single key, and had been telling herself for months she would get a spare made. That changed when she dropped the key getting out of the car and heard it crack on the pavement. The blade was still in one piece but she was not taking any chances.
She had already called the Audi dealer earlier that day. They told her to bring the car in, quoted her a number that made her pause, and said to expect the process to take a few days depending on parts availability. She decided to look for another option before committing to any of that.
I met her in the parking lot while she was still at dinner. I decoded the door lock cylinder to get the exact key profile, cut a replacement blade to match, and programmed the transponder chip through the OBD port. She came back out to check on me right as I was wrapping up testing. Both keys worked. Engine started on the first try with the new one.
The whole thing was done before she finished her meal. She paid a fraction of what the dealer quoted and never had to schedule an appointment or leave the car anywhere.
