Before assuming the key is bad or calling anyone, try the manual relearn: key to ON, wait for the security light to stop flashing (usually around 10 minutes), key OFF, wait 30 seconds, repeat two more times. If it starts on the fourth attempt, you are done. If it still does not start, the transponder in the key may have failed or the antenna ring around the ignition cylinder may have a problem. Both are diagnosable and fixable on-site. I have seen this happen after a battery replacement where the voltage dropped at the wrong moment and the system latched into a fault state. The key itself is usually fine.

I found a replacement key blank online for my 2011 DTS. Can I just have it cut and will it work?
