She called at 8:45pm from the community college lot in Spring Valley. Her 2001 GMC Jimmy wouldn't start after her night class. She drove home that night. Total was $101. The dealer would have been $214 the next day plus a tow. The problem wasn't the fob at all. It was a weak battery that caused the BCM to forget the key. That kind of diagnosis is why I carry multiple tools. The first assumption isn't always the right one.
