I got a call at 7:45 in the morning from a woman parked at a staffing agency lot in San Ysidro Village. She had a 2022 Hyundai Kona and the smart key had gone dead overnight. She was backing out of that lot well before 8:30. The dealer would have been a tow call, a same-day appointment fee if she was lucky, and probably a day without the car. That wasn't an option she had.
