2013 Hyundai Veloster Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call from a guy parked off 30th Street in North Park, two blocks from a coffee shop he never made it into. He had a 2013 Hyundai Veloster and zero working fobs. Not a weak battery situation. Both were gone, one lost, one ran through a wash cycle and never recovered. No backup, no way to start the car.
All-keys-lost on a push-button Veloster is a tool job, full stop. There is no ignition cylinder to insert a key into, no turn sequence to run, no owner workaround. The vehicle security system has to be accessed through the diagnostic port, the existing key data cleared, and a new fob enrolled before anything will start. That process also wipes any lost fobs so they cannot be used if someone finds them later, which matters more than people think.
I pulled up next to him on the street with my setup and walked him through what was about to happen while I worked. The module read clean, the reset sequence ran without a hiccup, and the new 4-button fob registered on the first attempt. Total time from parking behind his car to him driving away was under an hour.
He had already called the dealer before he called me. They quoted him a tow plus a wait of a day or two for a service appointment. He saved real money and a lot of time by not going that route. He just needed someone with the right equipment willing to come to him in North Park.
