I got a call from a Veloster owner near CSUSM Area in San Marcos. Not a lockout. Not a dead fob. Something a little different.
She had a working smart key, but the rubber button pad had gone soft and mushy, one corner of the case had cracked along the seam, and the emergency blade was wobbling around loose in its slot. She kept saying she thought she needed a whole new key. That's the gap the dealer never bothers to close -- if the electronics work, you don't automatically need to replace all of them.
