2015 Hyundai Veloster
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2015 Hyundai Veloster Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

He was at a Korean BBQ spot in the Las Americas Area of San Ysidro when his jacket got grabbed off the booth. Keys, wallet, phone, gone. He borrowed someone's phone to call the police, and his wife called me.

The 2015 Hyundai Veloster was sitting in the lot with zero working keys. The Hyundai dealer told his wife three to five business days, tow the car in first, and they recommended a full key memory wipe plus new fobs since the stolen key could still open the doors and start the car. The combined estimate was enough to make her voice go flat when she repeated it back to me.

I was there within the hour.

All-keys-lost on this generation means the first thing I do is pull the PIN from the immobilizer module, wipe every registered fob out of the system, and then enroll the new keys from scratch. The stolen fob stops being useful the moment that memory is cleared. It cannot unlock the doors. It cannot start the car. It is just a piece of plastic after that.

I decoded the door lock, cut the emergency blade, and programmed two new fobs on site. Tested every button on both, walked the doors, confirmed the push-to-start was reading both fobs cleanly before I packed up.

He drove home that night. The police called back with a case number while I was still finishing the paperwork. The dealer route would have left the car in that lot for most of the week, with a tow bill added on top. Sometimes the timing of a job matters as much as the job itself.
