In North El Cajon, a home health aide called me about her 2018 Sedona. The fob shell was cracked down the side and one of the sliding door buttons had worn through to bare rubber. The fob still worked, mostly, but she was pressing harder than she should have been and the blade was starting to feel loose in the housing.

The dealer's quote was for a whole new key because that is the only option they offer. It is not the only option. She paid a fraction of what they wanted, and her vehicle never left the driveway.
