2009 Nissan Cube Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Out in Bostonia, a carport job that started simple.
A woman had one key to her 2009 Cube. Bought it used, always meant to get a spare cut, never did. The housing had been cracked for a while and she was holding it together with a rubber band. Then the blade snapped clean when she pulled it from her pocket. Fob in two pieces, car wouldn't detect anything.
I got the call the next morning. She was at home in El Cajon, car was sitting in the carport, and she needed to get to work.
The good news was that the chip inside the broken housing was still intact. I was able to read the transponder data off it before building two new fobs from fresh shells. That meant I didn't have to run a full all-keys-lost procedure, which saved real time. I decoded her door lock, cut two new blades, and finished the build. Then I walked every function: touch unlock on the door handle, the start button, lock, unlock, the trunk release. Everything confirmed before I packed up.
Forty minutes, start to finish. Two working keys instead of zero.
She mentioned the dealer had quoted her a number that made her stomach drop. What she paid with me was a fraction of that, and she got two keys out of it instead of one. If you've still got the broken pieces of your old fob, hang onto them. It can make the job faster and cheaper.
