2010 Nissan Cube
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2010 Nissan Cube Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Out near the Grossmont Area, a guy called me about his 2010 Nissan Cube sitting in a parking lot off the main strip by the shopping center. He had gone fishing that morning, done a few stops on the way back, and somewhere between the lake and that lot his only key vanished. He had already retraced his steps twice. It was gone.

He figured he was stuck until he could get a tow to the dealer and wait on their schedule. I told him I could come to him that afternoon and build him a new key on site, no original needed.

When I got there he was standing in the shade next to the car looking at it like it owed him an apology. I picked and decoded the door lock mechanically, read the wafer positions, and cut a blade that matched the lock. Then I connected through the OBD port and ran the all-keys-lost sequence for the immobilizer. That process erases whatever was registered before and enrolls the new fob as the primary key. The Cube's Intelligent Key system has a timed sequence built into the reset, so you sit there and wait it out. No rushing it.

New fob, blade cut, programmed and tested. Doors locked and unlocked, push start confirmed, emergency insert key verified in the lock cylinder. He asked if I could make a spare while I was there. I did.

The whole job was done in that lot. He drove home the same afternoon. The dealer would have needed a tow, a Monday appointment, and a bill that made my number look like a rounding error.
