2005 Toyota Echo
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2005 Toyota Echo Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I was parked off Beyer Boulevard in Ocean View Hills when the call came in. She was at the Walgreens on the Otay Mesa side, standing next to her 2005 Echo with a fob that had quit on her entirely.

She told me upfront she had already been burned once. Previous guy had no company name on the receipt, no license number, and a phone that went dead a week later. So before she called me, she looked up my BSIS license on the state website. She verified the liability insurance. She read the reviews. She was not taking chances twice.

I get that. Completely.

The fob battery was dead, which was the easy part. But she also wanted a spare programmed in, and the Echo's remote system requires the right equipment to add a fob correctly. I had the factory fob, the CR2032 already seated, and the tools in the van. Programmed her new remote on site, confirmed all three buttons were talking to the car, and tested the existing key while I was there.

Real receipt. License number on the paperwork. Company van with the name on the side. She saved a good chunk compared to what the dealer had quoted her for the same job, and she didn't have to leave Otay Mesa to do it.

She said she was going to send her neighbor my number. I told her I appreciate that more than she knows.
