Her wedding flower delivery was sitting in the back of her 2008 Audi TT in July heat. Peonies and garden roses with about an hour before they started wilting beyond use. Her smart key had died in the flower shop parking lot in the Alice Keck Park Memorial Garden area of Santa Barbara and the car was locked with the AC off and windows up. The IM608 reads the Audi immobilizer and identifies exactly what the car needs to accept a new key or reset an existing one. Her remote flip key, FCC ID IYZ3314, was a 3-button smart fob with comfort access. The old fob's CR2032 battery had leaked inside the housing and corroded one of the internal antenna contacts beyond repair. I replaced the fob entirely, programmed the new one through OBD, and tested every function including comfort access detection from outside the car.
From her phone call to the engine running was 43 minutes. Total was 251. The dealer wanted 473 and a tomorrow appointment. The flowers made it to the wedding venue alive. She did not lose a $3,000 floral order because of a dead key battery.
