Got a call from a guy out near Cachuma Lake Recreation Area in Santa Barbara. His 2003 TT was sitting in a gravel lot and the flip key blade had worn down to the point where it would slide in but barely grab the wafers. He'd been jiggling it for weeks, and that morning it just quit turning.
He had one key. That's it. No spare.
I drove out with my HU66 Lishi tool and decoded the ignition cylinder right there on the car. Eight wafer positions, each one read directly from the lock so the new cut matches factory spec even when the original blade is too worn to copy. Pulled his Megamos 48 chip out of the old shell, seated it into a fresh 4D0837231P flip housing, and cut the new HU66 blade on my mobile machine off the decode.
Tested the transponder first. Key in, dash lights cycle, engine fires. No immobilizer light staying on, no flashing. Then I paired the remote side, all four buttons: lock, unlock, trunk, panic. CR2032 seated clean. Walked the car, tested lock and unlock range from about 30 feet out, popped the trunk button.
He'd been leaning against the fender watching the whole thing. When the engine caught on the first turn he just nodded and said, "That's it?" That was it. Under an hour, right in that parking lot, for a fraction of what the dealer quoted him over the phone.
