2003 Audi TT Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A retired surgeon near Presidio called me about his 2003 TT. He had a cane and his aide was off that day. Getting across Santa Barbara to a dealer was not a small ask. His only flip key had started fighting the ignition, grinding slightly on the way in, occasionally not turning at all. The blade was worn down from years of daily use.
I drove to the medical plaza that morning and found him waiting next to the TT in the parking structure. He was patient and curious, watching everything I did.
I decoded his ignition lock to get the exact cuts, then cut a fresh blade to match. The flip shell was worn too, the hinge pivot was sloppy, so I rebuilt the key into a new shell using his existing chip. Then I tested the remote functions, walked the locks, and confirmed the car was starting cleanly.
He said the key hadn't felt that smooth since he bought the car. I believed him.
He saved a good chunk compared to what the dealer quoted him, and he did it without calling anyone for a ride or waiting three days for a parts order. The whole job happened ten feet from where his car was parked.
