Got a call on a Saturday from someone out near El Capitan State Beach in Santa Barbara. She had a 2000 Audi TT Quattro sitting in a parking area and one key that was falling apart. The flip blade still worked in the door and ignition, but the plastic housing had cracked at the pivot and the remote buttons were dead. I drove out and worked on the hood of the TT. Cut a new HU66 blade on my Xhorse Condor, then cloned her existing Megamos 48 chip onto a new VVDI Super Chip using the VVDI Key Tool. The Immo3 system on these PQ34 cars allows chip cloning, so I did not even need to touch the OBD port. Wrote the chip data, dropped it into a fresh 4D0837231P shell, and tested.
Blade turned smooth in the ignition. Engine fired. I walked the remote functions: lock, unlock, trunk, panic. All four buttons on the MYT8Z0837231 responded clean. She watched the whole thing sitting on a bench about ten feet away, and when the car started she just quietly said, "That's it?"
That was it. Maybe twenty minutes, no tow, no dealer appointment.
