A driver pulled over on the roadside in Ventura had his key snap inside the ignition of his 2017 Ford Fusion. The blade broke clean in half. Another locksmith he called first told him the ignition cylinder would need to be drilled out and replaced. That would have meant new keys, a new cylinder, and a bill pushing $500. I used my H75 Lishi to extract the broken blade fragment from the ignition without scratching the wafer surfaces inside. Once it was out, I decoded the lock by reading each wafer position, which gave me the exact cut depths for a new key without needing the original. His truck used a separate remote fob, FCC ID M3N-A2C931426, and a standalone transponder key. I cut the new blade from the decode and programmed the transponder chip through OBD.
No drilling and no cylinder replacement. His total was 261. The other locksmith's plan would have run 447 or more with a new cylinder and keys. His original lock works with the new key exactly like it worked with the old one.
