2016 BMW 4 Series Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I was finishing up a job on the north end of Poway when a message came in from someone over in the Poway Business Park. She had a 2016 BMW 4 Series and a spare key she had never gotten around to having made. Now her only fob was acting up and she did not want to find out what all-keys-lost on a BMW actually costs.

She had already texted me the VIN before I pulled out of my last stop. That one move matters more than people realize. With the VIN I could confirm the key type, pull the correct blank from my stock, and show up ready rather than spending the first ten minutes of her time figuring out what she had. By the time I parked next to her car in the lot, the blank was already on the seat beside me.

She came out and the first thing she asked was whether she should be worried about the module. She had read something online about BMW security modules being sensitive and was half-expecting me to tell her I needed to pull something apart.

I walked her through what the job actually looked like with a working key present. Read the module through the diagnostic port, register the new fob, verify both keys start the car, walk every button. No pulling anything. No sending anything out. She watched the whole process from about three feet away, which I prefer. People who watch understand what they paid for.

Both fobs tested clean. She had a working spare for the first time since she bought the car. The dealer had quoted her a number that made her wait six months before doing anything about it. She said she wished she had called sooner.

So did I, honestly.
