Here's exactly what happens when I replace a 2019 BMW X4 key. I verify your identity and vehicle ownership. Then I decode the lock and laser-cut the blade. From there I connect my IM608 to the OBD port and read the BDC module's security data, calculate the encryption key, and register the new fob through the security sequence. After that, I test. On models with Comfort Access, I check both door handle sensors too.
