Your 2020 BMW X4 uses a Smart Key with 4 buttons on the face, a CR2032 battery inside for the remote signal, and a laser-cut blade that either folds out or slides from the bottom. Inside is a transponder chip that the car's CAS module checks every time you insert the key or press start.
