2019 Ford Fiesta Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I was out in Flinn Springs on a Tuesday morning when a woman flagged me down, practically waving from the end of her driveway. Her 2019 Fiesta was sitting in front of the garage, and she'd already been locked out of her Tuesday.
Her fob wouldn't start the car, the push-button was throwing a key-not-detected warning, and she'd already tried the one trick she found online, holding the fob against the start button directly to use the built-in backup signal. The car started that way once, then stopped cooperating entirely.
She met me at the hood with her VIN on a sticky note and her ID ready, which told me she'd done this before or read something useful. I appreciated it.
I opened the fob right there on the hood. The CR2032 inside wasn't dead by the numbers, but the negative contact had a slight inward bend, barely visible, the kind of thing you only see when you're looking for it. The battery was making inconsistent contact, which explains the on-again-off-again behavior. Bent the contact back, seated a fresh CR2032, and snapped the housing closed.
Then I did what I always do before calling the job done: walked every function. Push-button start, door lock, door unlock, and the panic button. All of it. She stood there watching with her arms crossed the whole time like she expected something to go sideways again.
Nothing went sideways.
She asked if she should just get a spare cut now while I was there. I told her that was the smarter move, and we did it on the spot. The dealer would've had her waiting on an appointment and paying considerably more for the same outcome.
