2023 Jaguar E-Pace Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
There is an independent British car specialist in North Park, one of those small shops that knows JLR iron better than most dealers. They had a 2023 E-Pace sitting on the lift mid-service, and the only key had gone missing somewhere in the shop. The customer was coming that afternoon.
The service writer called me around 10 in the morning. I was already in San Diego, so I headed straight over.
The all-keys-lost situation on this generation requires going through the OBD port to interrogate the key verification module, pull the security data, and register a new fob from scratch. No key in hand means the system has nothing to learn from, so the tool has to do more of the heavy lifting. I got the module talking, worked through the authorization sequence, and had a fresh fob cut and programmed to the car inside about 35 minutes.
The moment I handed the fob to the service writer and he pressed the start button, both of us just waited a beat for it to either fire or reject. It fired.
The shop finished the repair. The customer picked up on time with a working key. The shop owner mentioned the dealer had quoted them multiple days just to get the car on the schedule. We got it done before lunch.
