2013 Kia Soul Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
There is a dog boarding facility out near the Poway Business Park, and I got a call from the owner on a Thursday afternoon.
He had watched one of my Kia key replacement videos before he ever needed me, saved my number, and when his 2013 Soul started giving him grief two days before a road trip, he did not have to think about who to call. That part sticks with me. The guy had done his homework.
The fob had been getting flaky for a few weeks. Some mornings it unlocked fine from the gate, other mornings he was standing at the door pressing the button like it owed him something. The battery was not dead. It was just the kind of slow fade where the car is not sure it trusts the fob anymore.
I pulled into the lot, he met me at the car, and I went through the fob first. Battery contacts looked okay, housing had a small crack along the seam from a previous drop that he had not thought much about. That crack was letting the internals flex just enough. We moved to a fresh fob, programmed it on site with my diagnostic equipment, and ran through every button plus a start cycle three times and a range walk out to the facility gate.
He mentioned what the dealer had quoted him. I just nodded. The math was not close.
He left for his trip the next morning. I got a text from the road that said it worked the whole way up.
