2024 Kia Soul Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I was out in Eucalyptus Hills on a Tuesday when I got the call. A guy in Lakeside had been kayaking and came back to an empty pocket where his only Soul key used to be.
He'd retraced the whole route, checked the lot, checked the launch area. Gone. His 2024 Kia Soul was just sitting there locked, and he was already resigning himself to a tow and a Monday dealer appointment.
I told him I could be there that afternoon.
When I pulled up, he was sitting on the bumper looking at the car like it owed him something. All-keys-lost on the 2024 Soul means the job starts from zero: pick and decode the door lock to get the cut data, retrieve the PIN through OBD, wipe whatever keys the system remembers, and program fresh. Kia's all-keys-lost sequence doesn't negotiate with the old fob. It's gone from the system the moment you complete the process, which matters if the original key ever turns up.
I decoded the door lock right there in the lot, got the PIN externally before connecting, and ran the sequence without any lockout drama. New smart key, blade cut on site, programming done. I walked every function before I handed it over: door lock, unlock, the button test, and a confirmed start.
He drove home that afternoon instead of waiting through the weekend. The dealer comparison came up naturally, the way it usually does, but it was almost beside the point. He just wanted to get home.
