A shop owner over in Rancho Santa Fe Village flagged me down on a Wednesday afternoon. He had a 2003 350Z and wanted a spare he could actually trust as a daily key, not just something he'd throw in a drawer and forget about. The 2003 350Z uses a remote-head key, so the transponder chip and the remote are built into one unit. I cut the blade on site, registered the chip, confirmed the remote range on all four buttons, and had him test the start himself before I closed anything up. He had a working spare in about 40 minutes, parked right where his shop is.
