A long-haul delivery driver pulled over at a truck stop outside San Diego had his key snap inside the ignition of his 2020 Nissan Kicks. The blade broke clean in half. I used my DAT17 Lishi to extract the broken blade fragment from the ignition without scratching the wafer surfaces. Once extracted, I decoded the lock by reading each wafer position for exact cut depths. His car used a separate remote fob, FCC ID KR5TXN3, and a standalone transponder key. I cut the new blade from the decode and programmed the transponder through OBD.
No drilling, no cylinder replacement, no new ignition assembly. His total was $247. The other locksmith's plan would have run $427 or more. His original lock works with the new key exactly like it did with the old one.
