I got a call from a guy in the Lomas Santa Fe area of Solana Beach. He drove nights and his 2024 Kicks had developed a habit of refusing to detect his fob by the end of each shift.

On top of that, the CR2032 in the fob was already running low, which made the intermittent detection problem worse and harder to pin down without proper equipment.
I programmed a fresh fob matched correctly to his vehicle, confirmed all four buttons, walked every door, and verified push-to-start on the first try and again after a key-off cycle. The replacement has been solid since.
The dealer was never really in the conversation. He just wanted it fixed that evening, on site, for a fraction of what the dealer had quoted him when he first called them about the problem.
