1995 Pontiac Bonneville
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

1995 Pontiac Bonneville Metal Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Got a call from a guy over in Carlton Hills, Santee. He had driven his 1995 Bonneville to a grocery run and somehow the key came off his ring without him noticing. Just gone. He was standing next to the car in a parking lot, bags in hand, no spare at home.

He had already called the dealer. They told him to tow it in and they would get back to him in a few days. He said it almost casually, like he had accepted that was just how it worked.

I told him that was not how it had to work.

I pulled up, decoded the door lock cylinder right there in the lot, and cut him a replacement key on site. Tried it in the door, tried it in the ignition. Smooth both ways. The whole thing took less time than the tow truck would have taken just to show up.

He said he did not realize a mobile locksmith could handle something like this. A lot of people still think that. The dealer comparison came up naturally when he asked what it would have cost the other way. I kept it simple: he saved a good chunk, and he kept his afternoon.
