2022 Ram 2500 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A couple in Casa de Oro had just bought a used 2022 Ram 2500 off a private seller. Financed it, paid first month's insurance, the whole thing. They drove it home on one key, which is the kind of thing you don't think about until you're standing in a parking lot at the credit union realizing you should have asked about a spare.
They called the Ram dealer first. The number they heard back made the wife go quiet for a second. They'd already stretched for the down payment and didn't have another big number sitting around right after closing the deal.
They found me online and called to ask if the dealer quote was real. I told them it was in the right range for a dealer. Then I told them what I charge, which is a lot less, and we set up a time right there in the credit union lot before they even drove the truck home.
I pulled up in the lot, got the diagnostic gear connected, and walked through the programming sequence on site. No tow, no appointment, no leaving the truck somewhere for two days. The whole job was done before they finished their paperwork inside.
They left with two working fobs and a spare they'll actually use. That second key also means if one ever gets lost, it's an add-a-key job down the road instead of an all-keys-lost reset, which is the more involved procedure. Small thing to think about when the truck is new to you. Costs a lot less to be proactive.
