A driver on the coastal highway shoulder near Winding Walk had his key go stiff and nearly snap in the door lock of his 2020 Volvo Xc60. The emergency blade had never been used and the cylinder was dry from years of salt air and corrosion. I used my HU66 Lishi to work the cylinder and extract the stuck blade without damaging the wafers inside. I decoded the lock from the wafer readings, cut a fresh blade, and programmed the transponder through OBD. His key, FCC ID YGOHUF8423, was a 4-button fob. The new blade turned the cylinder smoothly after I lubricated the wafers.
No drilling and no cylinder swap. Total was $306. The other locksmith's plan would have been $565 or more. Non-destructive entry is always my first approach on a Volvo.
